after a 16hr train ride. It was sleeper cars so the ride was bearable. We are currently studying at Karnataka University of Fisheries in Mangalore and so far have dug deep into lectures and labs everyday since. We have class from 9-12ish and then more class from 2-5 so my days have been pretty busy and tiring but well worth it. This morning we went to a fish landing where there were a crazy assortment of fish from hammerheads to sailfish to immense numbers of large and tasty fish. We also were able to go back past the market and saw the handmade boats being built which I have pictures of and will post later. These boats were no little boats either we're talking noahs ark big, it was quite impressive! The west coast, welll at least mangalore seems to be a lot better off than the east coast. There are a lot more commericialized areas, better dressed people, less beggars, and much less street dogs and cows to my surprize but apparently Mangalore is and was a trading post between the middle east and the east so they have a pretty well of history.
Well my internet time at the cafe is running out so i have to leave it at that so i hope everything is nice and chilly back home because i am sweating just typing this paragraph.
Oh and such a shame the steelers won I caught the highlights on cnn in the hotel but we spent our free time today trying to figure out how cricket is played because sri lanka and india were palying each other and like 30 indians were huddled in the reception area of the hotel watching the game.
